So we're thinking about switching from the brown paper bags we've been using since early last year to plastic "frosted" bags with cardboard reinforcement in the bottom. Main reason? The plastic bags cost less and are more easily re-used (for our many customers who like to return them for recycling).
Anyone out there have a preference?

Personally, I prefer paper bags. I think it has something to do with thinking, but that paper is more "green" than plastic. Paper is renewable from managed forests. I know that plastic can be recycled - and I hope all plastic bags are made of recycable plastic.
On a slight tangent, I get tired of virtually every bagger at the grocery stores asking me "Is plastic okay". I almost always say "No." Why can't they ask "paper or plastic?" I suspect it is because plastic is cheaper and they want you to choose plastic.
Thanks for the opportunity to express my "green" preference.
Thanks for your response. You are correct: plastic bags are far less expensive than paper. As a small business, we need to find ways to save money so we can keep our prices reasonable, and so we can keep bringing new wines in for our customers to enjoy. The plastic bags we are just starting to experiment with are definitely re-usable, but we'll see how our customers respond.
